Kaliakra Golf Foundation is continuing to work through The 2022 Kaliakra Golf Tournament, including all options and destinations according to international travels, due to a range of international pandemic factors, that process is taking some time to resolve.
We are well aware of the importance of being able to give clear guidance to fans, players and everyone involved and are working to resolve this as soon as we can. We will give a further update as soon as we are in a position to do so and thank everyone for their support and understanding in this challenging situation.
Unfortunately, The Pandemic crisis poses particularly daunting challenges to golf tournament in February and travels to Cyprus, given limited possibilities for international travels to reach Cyprus. The international quarantine and travel restrictions wreak havoc on planning and, with our marquee players living abroad, the challenge is even greater, the pressure and risk on host venues and organizers is also extremely high.
We would also note that we gave thoughtful consideration to postponing the Championships to 2023 in April. Therefore, it is preferred that we look forward to focusing on and delivering a wonderful 2022 in golf destination Kaliakra.
Knowing how much this event means to those who compete in it, we are disappointed to have to make this decision. As always, our top priority remains the health and safety of our players, staff and volunteers.
We are evaluating several options to provide our members with the opportunity to compete it in Bulgaria, June 2022, when it is safe and responsible to do so. We look forward to providing updates when more information becomes available.
